If your child was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, your child will be eligible for a nursery place starting in September 2025.
Although most children join us in September we do offer places throughout the year if they become available. Tower Hamlets will also offer parents their first choice of nursery if a place becomes available in the Autumn Term, even if the child has started nursery elsewhere. We believe that children develop more secure relationships and greater confidence when they start and end the year together.

How to apply
You can apply for a nursery place through the e-admissions portal. The closing date for this is 14th February 2025.
Please be aware that a place in our Nursery does not guarantee a place in our reception. Parents must apply for a Reception place separately via the e-admissions portal.
For a guide to using e-admissions, please click here. It is very important not to apply late, because applications made after the closing date will be considered only after places have been allocated to children whose parents applied on time.
30 hours funding
We require both parents working over 16 hours (or a single parent) to apply for a 30 hours code via Childcare Choices. The funding we receive from successful applications allows us to continue to offer full-time places. Each full time child will take up two of our 104 part time places. It is a requirement of our admissions process to ask for this.
Accepting an offer
Tower Hamlets’ Pupil Services will notify you of the outcome of your application by letter and email on the 7th May 2025 if you applied before the deadline.
You must accept or decline the offer of a place by 21st May 2025. If you do not reply by 21st May 2025 the offer will be withdrawn.
FAQs
What will happen after I apply for a place?
If your application was received on or before the closing date (14th February 2025), Pupil Services will notify you of the outcome of your application by letter and email. The letter will be sent on 8 May 2025 and will name the nursery at which a place has been offered for your child. The email will be sent after 5pm on the same day. This offer will be for a part-time place only.
Once your child has been offered a part-time place, you may request a full-time place from your nursery if you are eligible for 30 hour funding.
You must accept or decline the offer of a place by 21 May 2025.
How do I know if my child has a full time or part time place?
This will be discussed during your admissions interview. Due to recent changes in government policies, we can only offer full time places to children who are eligible.
I want my child to transfer from a different school to Harry Roberts Nursery School, what will I have to do?
You will have to discuss this with the headteacher at your child's current school. Contact us for more information.
Please note: Different arrangements apply to day care centres and playgroups and you can transfer from these once you have been offered a place.
